Preschool is an exciting stage of childhood.
Children are developing stronger language skills, forming friendships, asking questions, becoming more independent and beginning to understand increasingly complex ideas.
At Kaida Childcare, our Preschool Program serves children 2 to 4 years old and combines purposeful play, hands-on experiences and developmentally appropriate learning.

Stories, conversations, songs, vocabulary and books encourage children to communicate and develop early literacy foundations.
Counting, sorting, matching, patterns, shapes, quantities and simple problem-solving introduce children to mathematical thinking.
Children observe, explore, ask questions, make predictions and discover how the world works.
Art, music, movement and imaginative play encourage creativity and self-expression.
Children practice friendship skills, communication, cooperation, emotional awareness and positive problem-solving.
Movement, outdoor play and fine-motor experiences support coordination, strength and confidence.
Within our preschool program, children ages 2-4 practice communication, self-help skills and participation in everyday routines.
Through play and gentle guidance, teachers help children make simple choices, express their needs and cooperate with classmates. These experiences build foundations for later learning and growing independence at each child's pace.
Our Preschool environment gives children opportunities to:
Kaida Childcare Center is located at 24442 Moulton Parkway in Laguna Woods, near Laguna Hills, Aliso Viejo, Laguna Niguel and Mission Viejo. Our Preschool Program serves children approximately 2 to 4 years old, with care available Monday through Friday, 7am to 6pm.
At Kaida, we do not believe that a child should move to Pre-K simply because they have reached a particular birthday.
Children remain in Preschool while they continue developing the skills they need for the next stage.
This includes potty training and broader developmental readiness.
When a child is developmentally prepared for Pre-K, we consider the whole child.
Readiness can include:
This allows the transition to happen when the child is ready, not simply because the calendar says it is time.
At Kaida, we believe children should move forward when they are ready for the next environment, rather than being moved simply because they have reached a certain age.
Preparing children for the future does not mean turning preschool into elementary school.
Children need to play, move, imagine, experiment, create and enjoy being children.
Our goal is to combine intentional learning with meaningful play so children can develop important skills while enjoying this important stage of childhood.
As children become developmentally prepared for Pre-K, they can transition into a classroom environment designed to further develop kindergarten readiness.
Our Pre-K program focuses on early academic foundations, independence, social-emotional development, communication, confidence and the skills children need for their transition to kindergarten.
Kaida's thoughtfully designed classroom capacities give teachers more opportunity to know each child, observe their development and provide meaningful interaction.
We believe this is particularly important as children become increasingly independent and develop more complex social, emotional and learning skills.
Our goal is to provide a classroom environment where every child can be seen, supported and encouraged to grow.
Kaida's Preschool Program is designed for children approximately 2 to 4 years old. The program supports growing independence, communication, social development and early learning through age-appropriate experiences.
A typical day includes a combination of guided learning, creative activities, stories, music, sensory experiences, outdoor play, movement and social interaction. Children also have opportunities for exploration and age-appropriate independent play.
Potty training begins during the Preschool Program, when a child shows signs of developmental readiness. We work together with families to support children through this important milestone.
A child does not move to Pre-K simply because of age. We consider the whole child, including potty training, independence, communication, social and emotional readiness, ability to participate in classroom routines, ability to participate in group experiences and overall developmental readiness.
Preschool provides the foundation for the next stage of learning. Children develop communication, independence, social skills, early literacy and math concepts, problem-solving skills and the ability to participate in group experiences.
No. Young children learn through play, exploration, movement, social interaction and hands-on experiences. Our goal is to provide intentional learning opportunities while allowing children to enjoy childhood and develop at their own pace.
Teachers help children practice sharing, cooperation, communication, expressing emotions, following routines and building positive relationships with classmates and teachers.
Kaida uses Brightwheel to keep families informed and connected. Parents can view information such as attendance, meals and food, diaper changes, naps and daily activities, depending on the child's care needs. Brightwheel also provides two-way communication between parents and teachers, making it easy to share questions, updates and important information.
